This portrait by renowned photographer Mary Ellen Mark captures former Kenyon president, Georgia Nugent. Taken in 2012, the same year that President Nugent stepped down after nine years of service, it hangs as a fond tribute to her time at, and many contributions to, the college. She is remembered for the countless developmental projects she oversaw, including the construction of buildings such as the Gund Gallery, Horovitz Hall, the North Campus Apartments, and the Kenyon Athletic Center, as well as the foundation of the Gambier Child Care Center and initiatives including local food and sustainability, diversification within the faculty, and increases in the availability of financial aid.
