Knox Cadence: Scenes from Our Community
March 19 – October 5
Pop-Up sites around Knox County

Inspired by the exhibition Urban Cadence: Street Scenes from Lagos and Johannesburg, students from the Gund Gallery’s Associate Program asked residents of Knox County to participate in a digital photo competition. The submitted images capture the essential rhythms of life in Knox County and celebrate the unique perspectives of our friends and neighbors. Due to popular demand, the deadline for submissions has been extended! It’s not too late to share your best work!

Every Knox County resident is eligible to enter!

Only digital photo submissions will be accepted! Participants can enter up to 5 photos. Submissions are accepted by age (Children, Teen, and Adult) in three separate categories (People, Places, and Things). Entering is easy and can be done with a few clicks using a google form.

File Naming:
High resolution JPEG files are preferred up to 3MB each. All entry files must be named with artist’s last name (underscore), first name (underscore), entry category (underscore), and entry number (i.e. Smith_John_Places_1.jpg). Please DO NOT include any other information in the file name!

A panel of Associate Intern jurors will select the works.

Exhibit and Merit Awards:
Selected photographs will be presented as a digital slideshow online and at sites across Knox County. Merit Winners from each age group and category will be selected for additional exhibits and honors.

March 19: Exhibition on view starting at Gund Gallery and appearing at various Knox County locations through the summer

October 5: Final Celebration during Mt. Vernon’s First Friday from 6-9pm.
