Children’s Story Time: Weaving the Rainbow

September 9, 2017 10:00am – 11:00am

Stories help bring art to life. We invite our youngest art aficionados for special story times thematically linked to the art on view.

Saturday, September 9 at 10:00 AM
Warp Exhibition Space, Gund Gallery

Our first story time of the fall draws inspiration from the exhibition Warp: War Rugs of Afghanistan. We’ll learn about Afghan rugs and discover how ordinary wool can become a beautiful image in Weaving the Rainbow by George Ella Lyon.

Our second book, Wild Rose’s Weaving by Ginger Churchill, cleverly examines how traditions are passed from generation to generation.

Family Programs at the Gund Gallery

Art connects, inspires and transforms people of all ages and walks of life. Always free and open to the public, the Gund Gallery exhibitions and programs are also a regular centerpiece for special activities designed for families and children. Join the fun and discover new ideas and perspectives. This semester, we invite you to join us for Family Days, Story Times, and Frist Fridays in downtown Mt. Vernon. Visit our the events section of the website for more information.

Free and open to the public. All ages welcome.

Gund Gallery exhibitions and public programs are supported, in part, by the Gund Gallery Board of Directors and the Ohio Arts Council.
