PM Atelier: Pastel Techniques

April 5, 2017 6:00pm – 8:30pm

About the Workshop Series:

PM Atelier is a series of hand-on workshops that introduce participants to a range of traditional artist techniques. Color is the focus of our spring offerings! Our first session covers color theory.  The next three investigate color application using collage, watercolor and pastel.  In the final session, we’ll learn how to properly mat one of the works produced during the semester.  Registration is required and limited to 15 per session.

Pastel Techniques

The wide use of pastel began in the Renaissance and flourished into the 18th century.  Using soft chalk pastel, participants will produce a small still life and discover basic layering techniques.  We’ll explore the difference between optical and physical color mixing and learn how different paper stocks affect final results.

Wednesday, April 5, 6:00-8:30 PM

Seats are limited to 15 participants. Register HERE.
