“Alex MacLean’s pictures are an irreplaceable document bearing testimony to the precise forces now undermining our only planet. May they help give us the insight to make the changes that we must.”

–Bill McKibben, OVER: The American Landscape at the Tipping Point

Trained as a photographer and architect, MacLean’s aerial photography enhances our ability to understand complex issues by adjusting their scale. MacLean’s piece demonstrates his interest in environmental issues. He highlights human impact on the earth, urging for change in our interactions with the planet. He captures and presents the impact of climate change and human interference due to flaws in design planning through a larger lens that captures national expansion.
