Barry Gunderson: Currents

January 16, 2015–February 15, 2015  [+]

While living in 2013-2014 in downtown Minneapolis near the Mississippi River and Saint Anthony Falls, Kenyon faculty member Barry Gunderson re-experienced his boyhood landscape. Combined with daily walks across bridges to see what the river was doing that particular day, antique maps, NASA photos, and other images of the river inspire Gunderson. In this new series of wall sculptures, the artist revisits the patterns, colors, and surface textures that have been consistent features in his work for more than fifty years.

On view January 16 – February 15.

Opening Reception Friday, January 16th, 5:00-7:30pm
