Allyson Vieira is an NYC-based artist whose art explores themes of antiquity and takes inspiration from classical Greek aesthetics. She is a sculptor, painter and installation artist. In Vieira’s Weight Bearing IV (2013), two drywall pillars support a slab of steel. Her use of steel is also reminiscent of Serra’s industrial aesthetic, each artist intrigued by concepts of weight and space.
